Dear EA and BioWare: Please Don't Abandon Dragon Age
Dear EA and BioWare: Please Don't Abandon Dragon Age
For many of us, Dragon Age is more than a video game franchise.
It is one of the few fantasy worlds where politics, religion, magic, race, culture, morality, and personal choice all collide to create something special. For nearly two decades, fans have explored Thedas, debated its history, argued over its characters, and imagined what its future could become.
That is why many fans are concerned.
Whether opinions on recent entries differ or not, one thing remains clear: people still care deeply about Dragon Age. The passion has never disappeared. The discussions continue every day. Fans still create artwork, stories, theories, mods, videos, and wish lists because they believe Thedas is worth preserving.
We ask EA and BioWare to remember something important:
A franchise is most valuable when people care about it.
Dragon Age still has that advantage.
Many fans are not asking for Dragon Age to become something completely different. Instead, they want the series to evolve while staying true to the identity that made it successful in the first place.
We want a living Thedas.
A world where kingdoms rise and fall.
Where politics continue even when the player is not watching.
Where Grey Wardens struggle against threats beyond the Blight.
Where dragons are rare, terrifying, and worthy of the franchise's name.
Where dwarves, elves, humans, qunari, mages, rogues, warriors, and entirely new archetypes all have meaningful stories to tell.
We want deeper customization.
More meaningful armor crafting.
More weapon diversity.
More magical specializations.
Unique companions.
Memorable villains.
Powerful creatures.
Ancient mysteries.
Unexpected world events.
Settlements that evolve.
Factions that compete for influence.
And choices that genuinely shape the future of Thedas.
Many fans have spent years discussing ideas that could strengthen Dragon Age:
Dynamic world events and political conflicts.
Expanded dragon lore and dragon-focused storylines.
New magical disciplines and spellcasting systems.
Greater companion customization and development.
Buildable settlements and strongholds.
Deeper crafting and enchantment systems.
More diverse creatures, monsters, and mythical threats.
Large-scale battles that showcase the scale of modern technology.
Expanded Grey Warden, dwarven, and ancient civilization stories.
Greater freedom to create unique character builds and party compositions.
These ideas are not demands.
They are examples of how invested the community remains.
The greatest strength of Dragon Age has always been imagination. Fans constantly imagine what could be next because they believe the world is worth expanding.
That is why we ask EA and BioWare to continue listening.
Read the forums.
Watch the videos.
Follow the discussions.
Talk to the fans who have remained passionate through every era of Dragon Age.
The community is not your enemy.
The community is one of Dragon Age's greatest assets.
Many of us want nothing more than to see Dragon Age succeed again, not only commercially but creatively. We want future generations of players to discover Thedas the same way we once did.
Dragon Age deserves a future.
Thedas deserves a future.
And the fans who have stood beside this franchise for years hope EA and BioWare will continue building that future rather than leaving it behind.
The world of Dragon Age still has countless stories left to tell.
Please don't let those stories end here.
